FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises detecting the source area of self-heating of peat by measuring the temperature in peat at least at six points, preparing the inert gas according to the technology of membrane separation of air and its supply under pressure to the said area. Measurement of the temperature and supply of the inert gas into the peat is performed using peat barrels-thermoprobes, each of which is made in the form of peat barrel provided with at least two temperature sensors. The unit comprises: an air compressor with a power drive, an air separator connected with the outlet of the air compressor and made in the form of a battery of hollow fibre membranes with the ability to separate the air to inert gas with high nitrogen content and the rest of the gas with high oxygen content. Also, it comprises a receiver which input is connected to the output of the vitiated air of the air separator. And it comprises at least three peat barrels-thermoprobes each of which is connected to the receiver and is made in the form of a peat barrel provided with at least two temperature sensors.

EFFECT: significant slowing of self-heating of peat, increasing the time between successive prevention, increasing the injury prevention.
