PHOTOSENSITIZER DISPERSION AND ITS APPLICATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A01N25/04 A01N25/30 A61K6/00

Abstract RU 2766122 C2

FIELD: microbiology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a dispersion containing a photosensitizer and to its application. The dispersion for photodynamic inactivation of microorganisms contains: at least one photosensitizer that is selected from a group consisting of phenalenones, curcumins, flavins and mixtures thereof, at least one liquid polar phase, and at least one surfactant. The dispersion is microemulsion, gel, or a mixture thereof at a temperature in the range from 2°C to 50°C and a pressure in the range from 800 to 1200 mbar. The dispersion is used for photodynamic inactivation of microorganisms that are preferably selected from a group that consists of viruses, archaea, bacteria, bacterial spores, fungi, fungal spores, protozoa, algae and blood-borne parasites. A method for photodynamic inactivation of the above-mentioned microorganisms includes following stages: bringing microorganisms into contact with the above-mentioned dispersion containing the photosensitizer, and radiating microorganisms and at least one photosensitizer with electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength in the range from 280 to 1000 nm and energy density in the range from 1 mcW/cm2 to 1 kW/cm2.

EFFECT: invention allows obtaining a photosensitizer with increased antimicrobial efficiency.
