FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering of organosilicon compounds. Disclosed is a method of producing unsymmetrical organocyclotetrasiloxanes of general formula [(CH3)2SiO]3[R1R2SiO], where R1 = R2 and denote C2H5 or C6H5, or if R1 denotes CH3, R2 denotes CH2 = CH, H or C6H5, including (a) the reaction of dimethylsiloxanes of linear or cyclic structure with sodium hydroxide to form sodium hexamethyltrisiloxane diolate and (b) its subsequent reaction with diorganodichlorosilane of the corresponding structure in an organic solvent. Organic solvent used is a solvent selected from diethyl ether, methyl-tert-butyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, dimethoxyethane, pyridine. Content of sodium hexamethyltrisiloxane diolate in the organic solvent ranges from 5 to 15 wt. %.
EFFECT: disclosed method of producing asymmetric organocyclotetrasiloxanes provides selective formation of the end product with high output and the absence of hydrochloric acid wastes, is economical and environmentally friendly.
