FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the processing and manufacture of products from composite materials based on aluminum alloys reinforced with silicon carbide. A method for manufacturing products from an aluminum matrix composite reinforced with silicon carbide by forming under pressure and heating at a variable rate includes applying an initial pressure equal to 1-3% of the tensile strength of the matrix material to the workpiece from the processed composite, heating in three stages: stage I - from room temperature to a temperature of 0.1 Tliquidus of the matrix with an increase in the heating rate from 2°C/min to 8°C/min; stage II - from a temperature equal to 0.1 Tmatrix liquidus to a temperature equal to 0.2 Tmatrix liquidus, with an increase in the heating rate from 8°C/min to 11°C/min; stage III - from a temperature equal to 0.2 Tmatrix liquidus to a temperature equal to 0.88 Tmatrix liquidus, with a decrease in the heating rate from 11°C/min to 3°C/min, holding at a temperature equal to 0.88Tliquidus of the matrix, for 1 min and subsequent cooling to room temperature at an arbitrary rate.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to combine shaping with deformation-heat treatment, which ensures the deformability of the alumina-matrix composite to the level necessary to obtain products of complex shape without the formation of defects in one technological transition.
