FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of composite aluminium-boron sheets. It may be used in making hardware for nuclear, aerospace and aircraft engineering, and military equipment, including structures protecting against heat neutrons. Boron carbine and aluminium are used to make powder mix containing not over 25% of boron carbide. Note here that boron carbide-to-fine aluminium powder fraction ratio does not exceed 2:1. Prepared mix is placed in shell from aluminium-containing material, compacted and heated therein and, then, hot-rolled. Hot-rolling is carried out with reduction of, at least, 50% in first pass and 30-40% in second pass.
EFFECT: permanent joint between sheet shell with powder mix later, higher strength efficient protection.
