FIELD: testing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing methods for recording the position and measuring the size of small-sized metal inclusions (SMI). The apparatus for recording the position and sizes of small-sized metal inclusions in articles made of non-conductive materials is equipped with an additional eddy-current transducer identical to the first eddy-current transducer, the outputs of the measuring coils whereof are connected with the corresponding inputs of the first switch, and is equipped with an additional switch, the first and second outputs whereof are connected with the corresponding inputs of the eddy-current transducers, which are the inputs of the exciting coils, and the input of the additional switch is connected with the output of the harmonic oscillation generator, wherein an algorithm for determining the position and sizes of small-sized metal inclusions is implemented in the microprocessor by recording the values of the signals of maximum inserted voltage Umax and minimum inserted voltage Umin and comparing said values with values from a set of planes of state in the memory of the microprocessor.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of monitoring due to the recorded position and measured sizes of SMI.
