METHOD FOR CORRECTING NEUROGENIC DYSFUNCTION OF THE LOWER URINARY TRACT OF CENTRAL ORIGIN Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61N1/32 A61N1/00

Abstract RU 2766762 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to urology and physiotherapy, and can be used to treat patients with neurogenic dysfunction of the lower urinary tract after acute cerebrovascular accident, severe traumatic brain injury, and other brain damage. The purpose of the invention is achieved by a method including electrical stimulation of the tibial nerve in the lower leg and plantar surface of the foot of the stimulated limb. In the sitting position of the patient, impulse currents from the Magnon 29D apparatus are applied through the electrodes, which are applied to the technological pad moistened with water. Monophase rectangular pulses with a duration of 100 mcs, with a frequency of 10 Hz, with pause/stimulation periods of 1.5 s, current from 20 to 40 mA, for 15 minutes are used. The strength of the current is selected until the appearance of pronounced painless sensations with bending of the big toe of the stimulated leg. The location of active and passive electrodes 20 - 20 mm in size is described, placed along the tibial nerve. The course includes 7 daily sessions from 9 to 11 am. Repeated courses are carried out with an interval of 6 months, between courses, patients are prescribed daily oral administration of the drug Vesicar at a dose of 10 mg in the morning. The patient keeps a urination diary between the courses of treatment.

EFFECT: method provides a reduction in the number of imperative urges, a decrease in the frequency of urination, an increase in the filling volume of the bladder.
