FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to dentistry, and is intended for use during treatment of a longitudinal fracture of a multi-rooted tooth. The mobility of tooth fragments, the severity of gum bleeding according to Mulleman are studied. The depth of the gingival pocket is determined. The informative image is studied by radiography of the damaged tooth in order to determine the degree of alveolar resorption, the quality of canal filling, and the presence of periapical foci of destruction. With the 1-2 degree tooth mobility constituting 1.5 points, the 1-2 degree gum bleeding according to Mulleman constituting 0.5 points, the depth of gingival pockets up to 2-3 mm constituting 0.5 points, the degree of alveolar resorption up to constituting 0.5 points, the canal filling to the entire length thereof and uniformity of filling along the length of the canals constituting 0.5 points, the absence of foci of destruction of the periapical tissues constituting 0.5 points, according to the total score of 4.0, the result of restoration of the function and the aesthetics of the longitudinal fracture of the multi-rooted tooth is estimated and predicted to be favourable and long-term, lasting for up to 25 years, and according to the score lower than 4.0, an unfavourable result is assumed.

EFFECT: method, due to the study of an informative image only by means of radiography of the damaged tooth and the simplified mechanism for evaluating all the obtained results, provides a possibility of reducing the labour intensity of the process of predicting a favourable long-term result of restoring the function and the aesthetics during treatment of a longitudinal fracture of a multi-rooted tooth.
