FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rolling crate. The rolling crate contains a bed on a service side and a bed on a drive side, a crate cooling device for cooling a steel strip. The crate cooling device is made with the possibility of installation in the rolling crate through a frame from the service side. The crate cooling device contains a lower water collector and an upper water collector. The lower water collector and the upper water collector, each, have a connecting pipe for a coolant and several cooling nozzles located in the direction of the depth of the crate cooling device. Lower and upper water collectors can be supplied with the coolant through the corresponding connecting pipe. The lower side of the steel strip can be cooled using cooling nozzles of the lower water collector. The upper side of the steel strip can be cooled using cooling nozzles of the upper water collector.
EFFECT: time interval between the last rolling pass during hot rolling and the beginning of cooling of the strip is reduced without the need to remove one or several rolling crates from the rolling mill before the production of thick strips, or, accordingly, to mount removed rolling crates again before the subsequent production of thin strips.
