METHOD FOR ELIMINATION OF STRICTURE OF STENSEN DUCT OF PAROTID SALIVARY GLAND Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to maxillofacial surgery. Ultrasound-guided puncture of compensated dilated section of Stensen duct is performed by external approach in antegrade direction along saliva flow. Conductor is inserted through a puncture needle into the duct and advanced along the length of the duct, passing through the stricture of the duct. Conductor is brought out into the oral cavity. Catheter is inserted along the guide wire and advanced until its proximal end exits into the oral cavity, and the distal end — into the lumen of the Stensen duct. Conductor is removed. Catheter is sutured to the buccal mucosa and cut in the distal direction from the fixing suture. Interrupted suture is applied in the puncture area. Catheter is removed on 14^th–21^st day.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce surgical injuries, risk of recurrence of pathological process, to form an anastomosis for unobstructed saliva flow, including in case of difficult visualization of stricture of Stensen duct and deformation of duct mouth, to reduce postoperative period and rehabilitation period, reducing the use of expensive equipment and making this procedure available.
