FIELD: sorting.
SUBSTANCE: unit for transporting and sorting, e.g, luggage at airports, comprises: multiple modules 10, 11 of inclining conveyors arranged in a row in the direction of transportation and reflective photovoltaic sensors 32, 33. The modules 10, 11 of inclining conveyors are supported by a frame 16 on top, configured to swing to the left and right around a support shaft 7 parallel to the direction of transportation, between the horizontal orientation for transportation and the inclined orientation for releasing the transported object - by gravity - in a direction transverse to the direction of transportation. The photovoltaic sensors 32, 33 detect the transported objects (trays T) passing between the modules 10, 11 of inclining conveyors by means of light beams passing in a vertical direction between the modules 10, 11 of inclining conveyors connected in the direction of transportation. The reflective photovoltaic sensors 32, 33 are attached to a support element 34 provided surrounding the periphery of the support shaft and supported by a frame 16. Detection of the transported object in the sorting area can be implemented with the highest degree of accuracy and security.
EFFECT: creation of a transporting and sorting unit suitable for sorting luggage.
