SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely interventional radiation diagnostics, cardiology and cardiac surgery. Contrast angiography of the pulmonary arteries is performed in the video recording mode. In the image of the right pulmonary artery, using a ruler, retreating 3-5 mm from the point of departure of the lobar arteries, the diameter of the vessel is measured, if there is a vessel lumen preserved from thromboembolism, its diameter is also measured, while measurements begin with the upper lobar branch of the pulmonary artery, then the middle and lower ones. The percentage of thromboembolic blockage of each lobar artery is calculated from 1 to 100%. The obtained indicators as a percentage of the degree of thromboembolic blockage of each lobar artery of the right lung are summed up among themselves, and by dividing the amount obtained by 3, the average obturation index (AOI) of the degree of pulmonary artery blockage for the right lung is calculated. Similar measurements are carried out in the left pulmonary artery. Then, the massiveness of pulmonary embolism is quantified by dividing the sum of the AOI of the arteries of the right and left lungs by two.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the accuracy of the topical diagnosis of PE due to an objective quantitative assessment of the degree of arterial blockage.
