FIELD: digital network synchronization.

SUBSTANCE: the method relates to the field of synchronization in digital networks, in particular to methods implemented in digital networks consisting of master and slave objects equipped with clocks, between which packets of information are transmitted over communication channels, including synchronizing packets. Essence: the slave objects, after receiving the synchronizing packet, form the receipt packets, fixing information about the time of sending the packet by the clock of the slave object, and the master object, after receiving the receipt packet, forms a correction packet containing information about the time of sending by the clock of the master object, and transmits it to the slave object, where the time of receiving this packet is fixed, the difference between the time of transmission of the receipt packet and reception of the correction packet by the clock of the slave object is calculated, which is compared with the threshold, which is the maximum allowable delay time, and, if the calculated difference does not exceed the threshold value, the clock of the slave object is adjusted by the amount of the calculated difference between the time of sending the correction packet by the clock of the master object and the time of receiving the correction packet by the clock of the slave object, minus half the time between the transmission of the receipt packet and the reception of the corrected packet.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of synchronization of the clocks of the slave objects relative to the clock of the master object with a random delay time of package delivery.
