FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an echo cancellation device, an echo cancellation method and an echo cancellation program. When the value of the reference signal transmitted to the speaker is equal to or exceeds the first threshold, a training algorithm using nonlinear processing is selected. When the value of the reference signal is less than the first threshold, a training algorithm using linear processing is selected. When the value of the reference signal is less than the second threshold, which is less than the first threshold, it is determined that the echo should not be removed. When the value of the reference signal exceeds the third threshold, which is greater than the first threshold, a training algorithm is selected from among the training algorithms using non-linear processing, speed of convergence of training of which is higher than speed of convergence of training of the training algorithm used when the value of the reference signal is equal to or exceeds the first threshold and is equal to or less than the third threshold. When the value of the reference signal a) is greater than the second threshold and b) is equal to or less than the third threshold, wherein the third threshold is less than the first threshold and greater than the second threshold, from among training algorithms using linear processing, a training algorithm is selected which is slow in terms of speed of convergence of training and has high accuracy of estimation. Echo training is performed using the selected training algorithm to remove the echo included in the input signal captured by the microphone, based on the training result.

EFFECT: providing effective echo removal and simultaneous reduction of computational load on the arithmetic device.
