FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in the extraction of lead from spent lead acid batteries, represented by batteries made of polymer materials, with electrode blocks. The method for disassembling batteries includes cutting off the bottom of the battery in an inverted state, draining the electrolyte and returning the battery to the operating position, followed by desliming it with a water-air mixture containing NaOH 20-30 g per 1dm3, drying and cutting off the polymer elements of the case and cover, while the bottom cut off by electrothermal method using a nichrome string with a diameter of 2 mm heated to 750-800°C, and desliming of the electrodes is carried out with a water-air mixture with a pressure of 0.4-0.5 MPa, followed by drying with hot air at 140-160°C.
EFFECT: improving the efficiency of separation of lead-containing phases from accompanying organic components.
