FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to production of sheet anisotropic electrical steel, mainly with oriented grain structure, which can be used for production of various types of magnetic cores, including cores of transformers and other electrical machines. Method of manufacturing a sheet workpiece for the production of magnetic conductors, consisting of a substrate from anisotropic electrical steel with a forsterite coating formed on its surface and a powder mineral dielectric coating formed on top of it, includes the manufacture of a sheet workpiece from anisotropic electrical steel with a forsterite coating formed on its surface and the subsequent application of a powder mineral dielectric coating containing complex oxides containing Mg, Si and Al, drying the coating by heating, after which the surface of the coated sheet workpiece is heated by a laser beam moving along the width of the sheet workpiece, with provision of formation of grooves made in the form of tracks and formation of granules from ceramic particles of Mg, Si and Al oxides during melting of surface layer in said grooves.

EFFECT: reduced specific magnetic and electrical losses in cores with simultaneous stabilization of steel sheet properties during manufacture of finished products, including during process annealing, as well as during operation of finished magnetic cores.
