Bridge beam (10) includes connected first (12) and second (14) shells to form tubular housing (32) and reinforcing element (22). Tubular body (32) has inner peripheral surface (26) with group of flat sections (34). Reinforcing element (22) has out-of-round cross-section, is arranged inside tubular housing (32) and partially adjoins flat sections (34) of inner peripheral surface (26) of tubular housing (32). Reinforcing element (22) comprises a group of parts, which, in particular, freely adjoin each other or are connected to each other, preferably welded or glued. In particular, reinforcing element (22) has an open profile or reinforcing element (22) protrudes beyond attachment area (20) and has a continuously decreasing wall thickness, or beam comprises one or a group of fasteners (40), which attach reinforcing element (22) to tubular housing (32), or seal (46) is located between reinforcing element (22) and tubular body (32) in area around fastener (40) and represents a bead of glue.
