FIELD: heat engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to low-gas means for heating a thermal battery, namely to pyrotechnic heaters used for heating thermal chemical current sources. A pyrotechnic mixture for a heater of a thermal chemical current source in the form of a tablet contains, wt. %: iron 67-85, potassium perchlorate 10-18, molybdenum 5-15. An average particle size of molybdenum powder is 1.9-2.0 mcm. The tablet is made with a thickness of 0.86-0.91 mm.
EFFECT: invention allows for an increase in combustion speed of the pyrotechnic mixture to a level of more than 10 cm/s at a thickness of the pyrotechnic heater of 0.86-0.91 mm.
