FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorbents. Described is a briquetted oil sorbent containing organic material in the form of crushed native or modified wood, in which calcium carbide in lump form is locally included in the central zone of the porous briquette in an amount which provides a reaction of separating the briquette into elementary fractions of the adsorbent during interaction of CaC2 with an aqueous medium.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of water surface cleaning.
