SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and equipment for preventing loss of data existing in an Msg3 buffer and determining paging periods in a next-generation mobile communication system. According to the disclosed method, from a base station through system information, first information associated with a time division duplex (TDD) configuration is obtained; second information associated with the search space configuration; third information associated with a position for at least one synchronization signal block (SSB), as well as a parameter to be used to determine the number of PDCCH tracking periods. Number of PDCCH tracking periods is determined based on the number of transmitted SSB determined based on third information associated with a position for at least one SSB and said parameter.
EFFECT: providing flexibility of communication scheduling due to possibility of determining paging periods.
