FIELD: laser equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for wet laser cleaning of solid materials; it can be used in mechanical engineering and aircraft engineering for selective cleaning of metal sheathing of aircraft airframes from paint and varnish materials. A thin layer of liquid on the treated surface is formed by means of a flat slit nozzle. Irradiation of the surface is carried out by a pulsed unfocused laser beam. The laser emitter is moved over the treated surface uniformly at a speed that ensures the overlap of diameters of the laser beam ablation along x and y axes. The duration of the laser pulse is set to no more than 10·10-9 s, the pulse energy is not less than 800 MJ, the pulse repetition frequency is from 10 Hz or more.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to selectively remove paint and varnish materials from the surface of large-sized structures of complex spatial shape without thermal (heat) stresses causing deformations (warping) of material of the thin-walled metal sheathing of the aircraft.
