FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to countermeasures against foreign technical reconnaissance means. Proposed invention is aimed at reducing the visibility of the missile-artillery weapons (MAW) samples by means of engineering and technical equipment in the radar range (wavelength λ = 0.8…4.5 cm) and optical-visual (visible) range (λ = 0.3…0.8 mcm). Method of reducing radar and optical-visual signature of MAW samples, in which there is a reduction in tell-tale features of MAW sample by using a two-layer radio-absorbing coating. On the steel housing of the MAW sample, a base protective layer of XB-518 enamel, a layer of radar-absorbing material (RAM) of rubber crumb with a particle size of 1 mm, a layer of rubber crumb, which contains rubber, soot, sulfur, silicon, polymers, with fraction size of 4…5 mm with binder - perchlorovinyl enamel XB-518 (20 % XB-518, 80 % of rubber crumbs), and surface layer of XB-518 enamel in the required protective colour.
EFFECT: providing the required level of reduction of radar and optical visibility of MAW samples by using radio-absorbing structures having low manufacturing costs and which fully meet operational requirements.
