FIELD: heat power engineering; machine building.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to heat power engineering and machine building, namely to methods and devices for conversion of thermal energy into mechanical energy. Method consists in the fact that chambers 2 are alternately heated and cooled, which are filled with heat-sensitive working medium 4, walls 5 of which are heat-conducting and have, completely or partially, the shape of a heat exchange surface, redistributing the mass of liquid in rotor 1, creating a weight unbalance of rotor 1, which causes alternate movement of chambers 2 into zones of their heating and cooling. Chambers 2 are alternately heated and cooled, which are located along the circumference of wheel-shaped rotor 1 and are interconnected through inlet/outlet valves 5 or other shutoff inlet/outlet devices with formation in aggregate of an inner annular space inside rotor 1.

EFFECT: group of inventions is aimed at increasing efficiency of thermal energy conversion.
