FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of navigation in ice conditions, in particular to hovercraft, destroying the ice cover by the resonance method. A method for the destruction of the ice cover is proposed, which consists in excitation of resonant bending-gravity waves in the ice when the hovercraft moves near the coast along its coastline at a resonant speed and uses the stress-strain state of the ice cover that occurs along the coastline during sea tide. Simultaneously with the movement along the coastline, the vessel is moved along a circular path with a diameter equal to the length of the resonant bending-gravity waves, and at a speed that provides it with a maximum trim to the stern. The movement along the circular trajectory is resumed each time after the vessel enters the previous direction of movement and passes a distance equal to the length of the resonant bending-gravity waves.
EFFECT: efficiency of the destruction of the ice cover is increased.
