FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ice-technology, particularly to ice breaking. Method of ice breaking is performed by air-cushion ship during its movement over ice with resonance speed. After excitation of resonance flexural-gravity waves in ice, to ship within first wave trough moving behind it with resonance speed are fed periodic reciprocating movements in direction of its movement with resonance frequency of flexural-gravity waves. Movement is provided maximum within wave troughs that is equal to half their length, simultaneously, vessel is rotated about vertical axis with frequency of resonance flexural-gravity waves.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of ice breaking.
