FIELD: protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective devices designed to prevent harm caused by birds, leading to the destruction of the insulation of a long rod insulator, in particular retainer insulators used to fasten elements of a contact network, for example, railway transport. The bird protection device installed on the bearing element of the contact wire console contains a base and an anti-attack element associated with it. The base is made in the form of a longitudinal element with the possibility of fixing on the bearing element of the console along its longitudinal geometric axis, and the anti-attack element is made in the form of a plate, the median plane of which is located along the geometric longitudinal axis of the device base.

EFFECT: simplification of the design, increase in the reliability of the protection of insulators with less weight, dimensions and windage.
