FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing derivatives of N-hydroxybutanamide. The method is characterised by the fact that the synthesis is performed by a reaction of aromatic amine or hydrazide of carboxylic acid with an anhydride of succinic acid, followed by imidising the acylation product into an N-substituted succinimide and opening the imide ring in the presence of hydroxylamine in accordance with the diagram below. In the diagram, R stands for an aryl or a residue of a hydrazide of carboxylic acid.
EFFECT: proposed method constitutes a new universal approach to synthesis of derivatives of N-hydroxybutanamide, implemented under mild conditions and applicable in production of new inhibitors of histone deacetylases.
