FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to veterinary medicine, namely to a method for protection against Streptococcus suis of piglets having maternal anti-Streptococcus suis antibodies against Streptococcus suis. The method includes the injection of a vaccine containing an antigen, which is IgM protease of Streptococcus suis, to piglets aged no more than 28 days. The use of an antigen, which is IgM protease of Streptococcus suis, is claimed to obtain a vaccine to protect piglets with maternal anti-Streptococcus suis antibodies against Streptococcus suis.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to protect against Streptococcus suis piglets having maternal anti-Streptococcus suis antibodies against Streptococcus suis.
