FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgical oncology and urology. The pelvic organs are examined in the T2-WI mode of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The parameters of the prostate gland and the volume of the pelvis are determined. The pelvic-prostatic index (PPI) is calculated based on the resulting parameters according to the original formula. Based on the resulting PPI value of 15% or more, an increase in the complexity of robot-assisted prostatectomy is predicted.
EFFECT: method has a high information value allowing for prediction of the complexity of the operation accounting for the anatomical features of the patient and selection of a personalised approach to the treatment of a specific patient, as well as a reduction in the risk of perioperative complications.
