FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely cardiology, and can be used to predict the severity of idiopathic pulmonary hypertension. Blood is taken from the patient’s cubital vein, whole blood and isolated erythrocytes are examined by Raman spectroscopy. The intensity of the band at 1550 cm-1 is determined, characterizing the valence oscillation of the spin state of iron (Fe3+), characteristic of deoxyhemoglobin, and the intensity of the band at 1580 cm-1, characterizing the valence oscillation of the spin state of iron (Fe3+), characteristic of oxyhemoglobin. The ratio I1580/I1550 is calculated. When this value is 1.98-1.68 for whole blood, and 3.16-2.82 for erythrocyte suspension, the absence of idiopathic pulmonary hypertension is judged. With values for whole blood of 1.67-1.04, and for a suspension of erythrocytes of 2.81-2.64, the initial stage of the disease is likely. With values for whole blood less than 1.03 and for erythrocyte suspension less than 2.63, the degree of idiopathic pulmonary hypertension is considered severe with the need for an invasive follow-up examination.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of assessing the severity of idiopathic pulmonary hypertension, which provides identifying patients for whom an invasive follow-up examination is necessary, which reduces the number of complications, accuracy and non-traumatism, in addition, it makes it possible to obtain information about the severity of hypoxia in a short period of time, regardless of the physiological characteristics of the patient, does not require large computing power for data analysis, except for objective assessment of the affinity of hemoglobin to ligands by Raman spectroscopy, which makes it possible to judge the oxygen-transport function of erythrocytes.
