METHOD OF PREDICTING PROBABLE LETHAL OUTCOME IN PATIENTS WITH LIVER CIRRHOSIS OF VIRAL, ALCOHOL AND COMBINED ETIOLOGY IN COMBINATION WITH PULMONARY HYPERTENSION Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B5/02 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, in particular to gastroenterology and pulmonology, namely to methods of predicting probable lethal outcome in patients with liver cirrhosis of viral, alcohol and combined etiology in combination with pulmonary hypertension. For this purpose value of maximal systolic pressure in pulmonary artery (max.sist GP) is determined by method of transthoracic echocardiography, and if max.sist GP values are ≥10 mm Hg, probability of lethal outcome within 6 months is predicted, if max.sist GP≥14 mm Hg, probability of lethal outcome within 12 months is predicted and if max.sist GP≥15 mm Hg, probability of lethal outcome within 18 months is predicted.

EFFECT: method allows to increase accuracy of predicting probable lethal outcome for periods of 6, 12 and 18 months in patients with liver cirrhosis of viral, alcohol and combined etiology in combination with pulmonary hypertension.
