FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of manufacturing fillers for geophysical and hydroacoustic devices and extended antennas. A filler of hose towed extended antennas is proposed in the form of a gel-like composition. According to the invention, the composition contains from 94 to 96.84% by wt. of high-boiling paraffin hydrocarbon, from 3.0 to 5.84% by wt. of silicone heat-resistant rubber, from 0.15 to 0.5% by wt. of ethyl silicate-32 and from 0.01 to 0.07% by wt. of the catalyst – tin dicaprilate. A method for manufacturing the specified filler is also proposed. Gel-filled antennas can be used for exploration of oil, gas and other minerals on the offshore shelf, as well as for monitoring the movement of surface and underwater vessels.
EFFECT: low toxicity of the proposed filler and the manufacturability of filling towed antennas.
