FIELD: navigation.
SUBSTANCE: area of application: invention relates to the field of sonar and can be used in surveying the lower surface of the ice cover in marine areas, e.g., on a shelf at high latitudes. Substance: apparatus for surveying the underwater surface of an iceberg includes a tool for hydroacoustic sounding of the hydrosphere, operating in the polar coordinate system PSS-2, and structurally consisting of an antenna, a non-magnetic rod with an anchor apparatus, a rope cable, a rotary platform, a precision rotation sensor, a two-channel transceiver, a data processing station based on a portable computer, monitors, satellite GPS navigation system, an electricity supply system. The non-magnetic rod is therein made two-section, the first section of the non-magnetic rod is secured at one end on the deck of the watercraft by means of a seat, the second end of the first section of the non-magnetic rod is articulated with the second section of the non-magnetic rod, at the opposite end whereof a multibeam echosounder antenna operating in the EQUI-ANGLE emission mode is installed on the rotary platform, the rope cable is laid inside the non-magnetic rod, the data processing station is data-interfaced with the dynamic displacement sensor of the ship, two GPS compasses, with the radar of the ship, a meter for the vertical distribution of the speed of sound in water is installed on a rotary platform parallel to the MBES antenna.
EFFECT: structural simplification of the apparatus for surveying the lower surface of ice formations, in particular, lone icebergs.
