SUBSTANCE: power supply unit with a current input is intended to provide power supply voltage to microprocessor relay protection apparatuses at power facilities without a DC control voltage system. The technical result is achieved by creating a non-linear load current on the secondary winding of the transformer, made in the form of two parallel branches: one in the form of a chain of two diode bridges, series-connected by alternating current, the second one in the form of a symmetrical thyristor, the state of conductivity whereof is controlled by a control circuit coupled with the output of the power supply unit. The output voltage is formed by a voltage transformer, the primary winding whereof is connected in parallel to the non-linear load, and the secondary winding is connected through a diode bridge with a capacitive filter.

EFFECT: reduction in the ripple voltage on the capacitor of a capacitive filter.
