METHOD FOR MONITORING THE STATE OF PATIENTS WITH ACUTE ISCHEMIC STROKE (AIS) AFTER A COURSE OF COGNITIVE REHABILITATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/16 A61M21/00

Abstract RU 2771578 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to medical rehabilitation, psychological rehabilitation, diagnostics and screening methods for evaluating the effectiveness of therapeutic effects in patients after acute ischemic stroke (AIS). To do this, before and after the course of cognitive rehabilitation, which consists in cognitive training, the study of the complex of the following cognitive functions of the patient is carried out using testing: study of the amount of RAM; study of the function of active attention by determining the average response time to the stimulus for the test and the magnitude of the spread in the values of the reaction time. Ascertain the positive dynamics of the state of cognitive functions. If, at the end of the course of cognitive rehabilitation, in comparison with what took place before its start (initial state), a decrease in impaired indicators of the average reaction time is diagnosed by at least 25% in combination with a decrease by at least 15% of the scatter of reaction time values in cases their initial deviation from the norm and, in combination with an increase in the amount of RAM, an expansion of the block range by at least 1 unit. To assess the amount of RAM - the block range, a block tapping test is carried out using a computer diagnostic system, and to assess active attention with the determination of the average reaction time and the spread of reaction time values - the WAFA test using the same diagnostic system. When using visual and auditory modalities in the WAFA test, to assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation, the average values of the reaction time indicators obtained in this case and the magnitude of the scatter of reaction time values are used.

EFFECT: method allows accurately assessing the level of existing cognitive impairment (CI) and the effectiveness of cognitive rehabilitation in the process of monitoring the condition of patients after ischemic stroke, including helping to resolve the issue of the need for additional medication aimed at preventing/slowing the progression of cognitive impairment, with small temporary costs.
