FIELD: preparation of beverages.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a machine (1) for preparing a beverage, containing a brewing chamber (21) for a capsule containing a food product, a supply channel (32) connecting the installation hole (31) for a capsule with the brewing chamber (21), an imaging apparatus (4) for obtaining at least one image of a section of the capsule. The imaging apparatus (4) includes an optical sensor (42) facing the image capturing zone (40) constituting a section of the supply channel (32). The viewing window (45) made of a transparent material is located between the optical sensor (42) and the image capturing zone (40), wherein the viewing window (45) has a first surface (451) and a second surface (452). The machine also comprises a heating apparatus (6, 22) located in the first area (11) located at a height below the second area (12) wherein the viewing window (45) is located. The first area (11) and the second area (12) are in communication. During use, the heating apparatus (6, 22) heats the air in the first area (11), and the heated air passes into the second area (12) wherein the heated air can come into contact with the first surface (451) and/or the second surface (452) of the viewing window (45) and heat the viewing window (45).

EFFECT: ensured preparation of a hot beverage.
