FIELD: coffee drink preparation.

SUBSTANCE: method serves to prepare a coffee drink in a coffee machine (10) which has a brewing device (30) with a brewing chamber (35) for receiving ground coffee, wherein the brewing chamber (35) includes at least one fluid inlet (36) and fluid outlet (45); a fluid medium system (12) with a fluid medium supply line (26) connected to the fluid inlet (36) and a fluid medium supply device (15) for supplying heated fluid via the fluid medium supply line (26). The method includes the following steps (a)-(b): (a) introducing a predetermined amount of ground coffee (38) into the brewing chamber (35), (b) supplying heated fluid through the fluid supply line (26) to the brewing chamber (35) for preparing a coffee beverage by brewing ground coffee in the brew chamber (35) and dispensing the prepared coffee beverage through the fluid outlet (45). Before step (a), the first amount of heated fluid is supplied through the fluid supply line (26) to the brewing chamber, and at least part of the first amount of heated fluid supplied in step (c) is discharged through the fluid separated from the fluid outlet (45), which is in connection with the passage of the fluid with the brewing chamber (35) and/or fluid supply line (26) to drain outlet (65), in order to preheat the line (26) fluid supply and the brewing device (30) before preparation of a coffee drink. By supplying a heated fluid during step (c), in particular, it is possible to compensate for heat losses that may have occurred during the operation of the coffee machine before preparation of the coffee drink according to steps (a) and (b), for example, if the coffee machine before preparation of the coffee beverage according to steps (a) and (b) has not been activated for a long idle time for preparing a coffee beverage in the brew chamber, and the fluid line and/or the brewer has cooled down during this idle time.
