FIELD: additive technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to apply a metal coating by means of a 3D printer. Apparatus for applying a metal coating consists of a body with a mount for securing the apparatus on the actuators of the printer. The body constitutes a tube made of a metal identical to the metal applied to the workpiece for coating, comprises a hole for loading an electrolyte and an attachment made of a dielectric material, screwed onto the lower part wherein a porous rod impregnated with an electrolyte is secured. The apparatus is configured for selecting the size and porosity of the rod, accounting for the thickness of the applied single layer. The body acts as an anode, and the workpiece for coating is a cathode and is connected to the negative terminal of the power source.
EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of adjusting the amount of electrolyte supplied in the process of forming the printed layer.
