FIELD: oil refining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil refining industry; it can be used in the production of boiler and motor fuels. The invention concerns a method for the disposal of heavy oil residues, including vacuum distillation of fuel oil with the release of straight-run vacuum distillate and tar. Vacuum distillation of fuel oil is conducted with a split of straight-run vacuum distillate into fractions, one of which boils in the range of 360°C-390°C, a fraction of vacuum gas oil, which boils in the range of 380°C-540°C, and a fraction of heavy vacuum gas oil, which boils in the range of 420°C-594°C, then a fraction of vacuum gas oil, which boils in the range of 380°C-540°C, and a fraction of vacuum gas oil, which boils in the range of 420°C-594°C, which are directed to a catalytic cracking unit, on which petroleum gas, gasoline and diesel fuel are obtained.
EFFECT: increase in the yield of light petroleum products and decrease in energy consumption in the process of catalytic cracking of vacuum gas oil fractions.
