SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to fiber cement products and their preparation and, in particular, to the carbonation of fiber cement products to reduce or completely eliminate the formation of efflorescence on fiber cement. The method for producing a fiber cement product includes the stages of (a) obtaining an uncured fiber cement product, (b) curing an uncured fiber cement product, (c) processing a cured fiber cement product using CO₂ (so-called “carbonation”) with a concentration of 15 to 30% by volume at a temperature above 40°C, relative humidity equal to or above 80%, for a period of 1 to 12 hours. Fiber cement products obtained by the method, the use of fiber cement products and the method for processing a cured fiber cement product using CO₂ are also considered.

EFFECT: obtained fiber cement products demonstrate a smaller amount of efflorescence.
