FIELD: sound encoding.
SUBSTANCE: group of solutions relates to systems for encoding an initial sound signal that use a harmonic conversion method for high-frequency reconstruction (HFR), as well as to digital effect processors, for example, exciters, in which the generation of harmonic distortion adds brightness to a processed signal, and to time expanders, in which the duration of a signal increases while maintaining the spectral composition. The system and the method are configured to generate a time-stretched and/or frequency-converted signal from an input signal. The system includes an analyzing filter block configured to create a signal of an analyzed subrange from the input signal; where the signal of the analyzed subrange includes a number of complex-valued analyzed discrete values, each of which has a phase and an amplitude. In addition, the system includes a subrange processing module configured to determine a signal of a synthesized subrange from the signal of the analyzed subrange using a subrange conversion coefficient Q and a subrange stretching coefficient S. The subrange processing module performs nonlinear processing on a block basis, where the amplitude of discrete values of the signal of the synthesized subrange is determined from the amplitude of corresponding discrete values of the signal of the analyzed subrange and the previously determined discrete value of the signal of the analyzed subrange. In addition, the system includes a synthesizing filter block configured to generate a time-stretched and/or frequency-converted signal from the signal of the synthesized subrange.
EFFECT: reduction in computational complexity, while maintaining the high-quality sound of the signal for various types of signals.
