FIELD: glass.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an article in the form of glass with a low-emittance coating, an insulating glass unit containing said article with coating, and an apparatus for manufacturing said article. Article in the form of coated glass comprises a glass substrate and a spray-applied low-emittance coating on the basis of the glass substrate. The low-emittance coating comprises at least one silver-based layer on top of and in contact with a zinc oxide-containing layer. The low-emittance coating is impacted using subpicosecond laser pulses with an energy density of at least 50 kW/cm2 in order to reduce the amount of vacancies in the silver-based layer or layers and reduce the amount of twin grain boundaries between the silver-based layer and the adjacent lower zinc oxide-containing layer. The silver-based layer has an Ag(111) particle size of at least 13.2 nm after laser impact.

EFFECT: coating with improved optical characteristics, exhibiting greater strength and corrosion resistance.
