FIELD: polymer compositions.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a composition with improved scratch and abrasion resistance, a method for producing the same, a method for producing a polymer article, an acrylic chip or pellet for injection molding, extrusion or co-extrusion, a co-extruded laminate, and a molded acrylic article. This composition contains (a) acrylic (co)polymer and (b) fatty acid amide in an amount of more than 1 wt.%. At least 30% by weight of the acrylic (co)polymer residues are alkacrylic acid or ester monomer residues and 0 to 70% by weight are residues of one or more other vinyl comonomers. The composition does not contain copolymers of ethylene and at least 1 type of vinyl monomer, other than such a copolymer, which is a rubber based on a copolymer of ethylene and alpha-olefin or rubber based on a copolymer of ethylene, alpha-olefin and a non-conjugated diene. The method for producing the composition includes the steps of melt-blending the fatty acid amide with the acrylic (co)polymer or adding the fatty acid amide to the monomer during the production of the acrylic (co)polymer.

EFFECT: resulting composition has improved scratch or abrasion resistance.
