FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine building, mainly to systems for supplying cryogenic fuel to a gas turbine engine for ground-based and vehicles. A method for starting a gas turbine engine running on cryogenic fuel is proposed, which consists in increasing the pressure of the cryogenic fuel to the pressure for operating the gas turbine engine in idle mode and opening the supply valve when the cryogenic fuel system cools down from the exit from the cryogenic supply tank to the exit from the pump of the turbopump unit to the temperature of the liquid phase cryogenic fuel, and when the temperature of the pump of the turbopump unit reaches the temperature of the liquid phase of the cryogenic fuel, the pump of the turbopump unit is started, while the process of chilling the cryogenic fuel system begins simultaneously with the opening of the supply valve, shut-off valve and flow controller to supply cryogenic fuel through the fuel injectors into the combustion chamber of the gas turbine engine in the period of spin-up of the rotor of the gas turbine engine in the process of its start-up and entering the idle gas mode, and the start-up of the pump of the turbopump unit is performed under an additional condition when the operating mode of the gas turbine engine is increased above the idle gas mode. Methods for increasing the pressure of cryogenic fuel at the outlet of the supply tank are considered.
EFFECT: invention provides reduction of time spent on preparation of a gas turbine engine operating on cryogenic fuel for start-up, operation at elevated modes or flight as part of an aircraft.
