For this purpose, the device has a control device, which, during the ignition attempt, preferably in a way specific for the instrument, limits current supplied to the instrument and/or limits electric power supplied to the instrument, and/or operates with decreased working voltage Ubb.
EFFECT: using such a measure, fast and stable formation of plasma with minor sparking is achieved for a large range of connected instruments in each case.
