FIELD: nuclear industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the nuclear industry and can be used in enterprises for the manufacture of fuel elements during their control. The method for controlling the helium content in a fuel element consists in induction heating of the fuel element zones spaced at equal distances from the control zone. The temperature in the control zone is controlled by several pyrometers installed oppositely, and the winding of the induction heater is made in two sections, with identical sections in the heating zones. In this case, the fuel rod is hung out in drive steady rests, which ensure its rotation in order to integrate the results of temperature measurement in the control zone for fuel rods with a winding of a spacer wire or tape. Graduation is carried out with the help of reference gas carriers made from a fuel rod pipe of the material of the same heat as the controlled fuel rod and according to the drawing of the gas cavity.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to eliminate the influence of the air temperature in the installation and the influence of the winding of the spacer wire and tape on the measurement results.
