FIELD: engine technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in automotive internal combustion engines to control the non-flatness of the surface of the blockhead mated to the cylinder block. The method for controlling the non-flatness of the surface of the internal combustion engine blockhead is that the controlled surface of the blockhead is installed horizontally and liquid is applied to it. Then a transparent, flat and rigid plate (9) made of non-deformable material and enclosed in a frame (16) with two handles (17) is installed on the controlled surface. By moving the plate (9) relative to the controlled surface, possible air bubbles are removed from the contact area of the controlled surface with the plate. Then, the contour lines of the contact surface of the controlled blockhead are combined with the contour lines of the cylinder head applied on the plate (9). By the coincidence of the meniscus of the fluid with the contour lines of the checked plane of the head or by the presence of its ruptures, the non-flatness of the controlled surface is judged.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy and productivity of determining the quantitative value of the non-flatness of the surface of automotive engines’ blockheads.
