FIELD: mining industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention is used in the mining industry, and it relates to a method for iron ore flotation. A method for concentration of iron minerals from ultra-thin waste consisting of compacted sludge and isolated by desludging, when processing iron ore, includes following stages: a) regulation of sludge pH to a value in the range from 8.5 to 10.5 by addition of a base; b) addition of a cationic amido-amine collector, which is a collector with an unbranched chain, composed of fatty acids of plant origin, or a mixture of the specified collector with one or more collectors selected from organic amino-ester cationic collectors with a branched chain, to sludge, and collector exposure; c) regulation of percent content of solid particles in pulp by addition of water; and d) reverse flotation, in the absence of depressant, to obtain a concentrate enriched with iron, where sludge contains ultra-thin particles, wherein 50% of particles have a size of less than 10 mcm.

EFFECT: obtaining a product with high iron content, low contaminant content and high specific surface value.
