FIELD: water management construction.
SUBSTANCE: earth dam with a lock belongs to the field of water management construction, namely to water retaining structures, and can be used to create earth dams on highly permeable foundations of limited capacity. The invention includes a dam body 1 made of low-permeable clay soil located on a highly permeable gravel-sand base 2 with a thickness of up to 6-8 m, underlain by an aquiclude 3 in the form of rocky or semi-rocky rocks, a lock 4 made of the soil of the dam body, made in the form of an inverted trapezoid ABCD, mating top base BC with dam sole 1, the lower base AD of the base of the lock 4 with a water seal 3 and its lower face DC 5 laid on the slope of the excavation of the highly permeable base 2, as well as the water levels of the upstream 6 of the dam with a retaining horizon and the downstream 7 in the area of the base 2 of the dam, in which in the body of the lock 4, a vertical impenetrable diaphragm DE 8 is arranged, hermetically connected to the water seal 3 at the junction of the latter with the lower face 5 of the lock 4.
EFFECT: proposed earth dam with a lock makes it possible to increase the reliability of the structure with the prevention of the possibility of developing dangerous filtration-suffusion processes in the lock of the dam.
