DEVICE FOR ENERGY SUPPLY TO VESSEL SEALING INSTRUMENT (OPTIONS) AND METHOD FOR CONTROL IT Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B17/125 A61B18/14

Abstract RU 2773138 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a device for energy supply to an instrument for sealing vessels from biological tissue and a method for control of such a device. The device contains two branches, a generator for creating coagulation voltage, a functional unit. Branches are designed to capture and clamp a vessel together with the possibility of passing current through it from one branch to another branch. The coagulation voltage is applied by the instrument to vessel tissue clamped between its branches to heat it up to the boiling point of tissue liquid. In this case, the generator is made controllable relatively to a value of the generated coagulation voltage. The functional unit for control of the generator is made with the possibility of control of tissue resistance through the coagulation voltage in such a way that tissue resistance fluctuates between the lower value characterizing tissue re-moistening and the upper value characterizing steam formation. In another option, the functional unit provides the possibility of continuous supply of coagulation voltage to the instrument with an amplitude decreasing in time to cool tissue. When implementing the method, at the coagulation phase, coagulation voltage is provided, which, when applied by means of the instrument to biological tissue of the vessel, causes current, under the action of which biological tissue forms steam. In this case, the coagulation voltage is modulated in such a way that tissue resistance fluctuates between the lower value characterizing tissue re-moistening and the upper value characterizing steam formation.

EFFECT: due to periodical control of tissue resistance between values characterizing tissue re-moistening and steam formation, a mechanical effect on biological tissue is created, which contributes to the destruction of connections between collagen fibers and the re-formation of such compounds to create collagen bridges between two layers of tissue captured between branches, tissue homogeneity is improved, the reliability of sealing the vessel is increased, sealing time is reduced, a mechanical effect on tissue is provided, comparable to its massaging.
